Think about Farley with that big spit-eating grin holding up the 63 million dollar check next time you are driving along just about any of our woefully maintained roads.

The 63 mil they picked Uncle Sam’s pocket for coupled the the 80+mil that will not be used to fix our crumbling roads will be used to shuttle non paying students to and from downtown while U of A will take all the commercial space downtown so there will be no property tax or sales tax revenue from the publically owned buildings.

Meanwhile, invest in a tire alignment shop, that’s the growth industry in this town. And trolley brake repair specialists. And trolley accident lawyers.

Iron Curtain you raise another point. If one government agency will be occupying space and not paying taxes into a taxing authority that is supposed to fund a downtown revitalization, who EXACTLY will pay for all this improvement again? I thought Rio Nuevo was self finanancing.
