Great I just finished dinner.
And mistakenly, I hit play….
I’m not quite sure how anyone can be against $63 million dollars coming into our community…
Am I the only one who sees the irony of Bud standing in front of the Coronado Hotel, another building that’s been bought by government and taken off the property tax roles?
Dearest K,
Where do you think that money came from?
The money comes from China. The feds have borrowed it from them to finance a streetcar that in the end will be more expensive than that Bridge to No Where in Alaska. Your great-great-grandchildren will STILL be paying for it.
Arizona’s version…. the Street Car to No Where!
How about A Street Car named Nada ?

papatodd,
as we both know, they are “our” tax dollars, and if they didn’t come back to Tucson, they would be going to another community. Again, how can anyone be against $63 million for Tucson?
K,
Here is the problem. $200 MILLION on Rio Nuevo and we got what? NOTHING!!! The 4th Ave Undepass was going to cost $31 Million and it ended up costing $47 million. And now, due to the inept fools downtown the GD trolley cannot even run thru the underpass because it has be deemed “too dangerous”.
Or let’s put it this way….
You hire a contractor to do work on your house. You pay him in full for project “A” and he never delivers on any of it. Then, foolishly, you hire him again for project “B”, which he quotes you at say, $2000. But the project ends up costing up $3000. would you trust that contractor with your third project?
It’s not about the money. It’s about the RESULTS being delivered by those who we have put in charge of that money.
PS if you want we can continue to discuss the “validity” of the 4th Ave Underpass “revitalizing the downtown area”, as Mayor Wake-UP claimed it would, for another day….
last point. How is the $160+ million dollar project going to affect you and you family’s life for years to come with a 4 MILE streetcar?
