A hearty congratulations are in order for Tucson elected officials, business leaders and most importantly the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, looks like you won us another national award. Tucson has the dubious distinction of being ranked in the bottom 10 in MarketWatch’s annual survey of the best cities for business.
At what point do we start taking these kind of things serious and actually get off our collective cans and do something about it? At what point is the pain of not doing anything get so great that we have no choice but to actually do something? At what point do we point fingers, change directions and try something different for once.
Some of the high points from the article:
“The city has no Fortune 1000 companies, and because it was the largest city with no firms in that category, it ranks dead last on that list.“Tucson also hosts no Forbes Private Companies, no S&P 500 firms and two Russell 2000 companies. It ranks 10th worst in the total number of companies, as measured by the Census Bureau.
