For a 6th time in a row the voters in TUSD school district told the administration that more money is not the solution. Last election was at least a close one, this election appears to be a blow out. Undoubtedly a tough time to ask voters for more money. Everyone is tightening their belts and the voters feel like government should do the same.
Is this a vote against the new Superintendent Fagen or are the past mismanagement questionable decisions from the school board and administration still plaguing TUSD’s image?
Looks like we’ll have to wait a few years for the economy to bounce back and for the Fagen administration show some leadership and makes some tough decisions with the number of schools, the size of the administration and the relationship with the teachers union.
Prop. 200 Fails - Early ballot results are in with an overwhelming NO by Tucson voters. Prop. 200 would have taken the police funding levels from 1.91 officers per 1000 to 2.4 officers per 1000.
