The difference between all of these cities and Tucson: opportunity!

We have the weather.  We have the natural scenery.  We have the knowledge base.

Where are the jobs?

Eventually the NIMBY (not in my backyard) attitude will prevent a city, state, or country from being competitive in the NOW VERY OBVIOUS Global Marketplace.  On a local level when a city does not work with its business community cities lose talent, jobs, and wealth to other cities.

We have the perfect opportunity right now to attract businesses that are looking to relocate or expand.  Are we poised to take advantage of this opportunity?  Are we going to continue to make the same mistakes? Are we finally going to put a plan together for our city?

This 25 year old doesn’t think so but will remain optimistic and continue to promote REAL change!

“If you build it they will come” -Kevin Costner 1989, Field of Dreams

It looks like Iowa decided to take this line to heart because apparently before this little incident they had been taking film making market share away from Hollywood.  How were they creating this new economic prosperity…tax cuts!  With a little more oversight and less ambiguity in what film makers can call film expenses it looks like this could be a pretty successful endeavor.

Once upon a time Tucson had a film industry as well.
